The"two combinations"are the successful experience of the CPC in leading the Chinese revolution,con-struction and reform.Mao Zedong made pioneering contributions to its formation and development.Foreign Mao Ze-dong studies researchers have long been paying attention to Mao's discourse on the"two combinations"issue.The Harvard Liberal School in the United States,Western Marxist scholars and left-wing scholars in western countries have elaborated Chinese and ethnic characteristics of Mao Zedong Thought from multiple perspectives,focusing on the inherent connection between Mao Zedong Thought,Marxism,and excellent traditional Chinese culture.There are distinct differences in the research on the"two combinations"both domestically and internationally.A profound understanding of the value standpoint,research positioning,logical approach,and theoretical perspective of foreign Mao Zedong studies can effectively broaden the understanding and interpretation of the theoretical approach to the"two combinations",and enrich the historical significance of Marxism with Chinese characteristics and moderniza-tion.
