Liu Shengmu,a famous bibliographer in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,preserved a considerable number of ancient literary criticism documents through the category setting,version description and an-notated records of catalog works.The bibliographic characteristics of Liu Shengmu's bibliography are mainly em-bodied in three aspects:paying attention to the literature review,having the consciousness of family studies and paying attention to the female writing.Its Chuzhai Bibliography is a supplement to the Tongcheng Literature Source Examination·Writing Description Examination,the two jointly present the literature appearance and communica-tion network of the literati works of Tongcheng School,record the penetration of the four parts of the criticism to the classics,history,son and collection in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,and consciously show the dynamic process of the communication,circulation and preservation of the criticism books among the literati groups in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.Studying Liu's bibliography from the perspective of the history of Chinese literary criticism can not only reveal the continuous and new changes of"poetry criticism"in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,but also help to understand the transformation of ancient poetry criticism to the history of ancitent literary criticism.
