In order to accumulate the data for grasshoppers′research in Taiwan,a total of 1079 grasshoppers speci-mens collected from Taiwan are neatened and identified,and Shannon Wiener′s diversity index,Pielou′s evenness in-dex and Richness index are accounted and the diversity is analyzed at different levels. The results show that there are 2 families,10 subfamilies,17 genera in Taiwan grasshoppers. Of which,catantopidae has 8 genera,Oedipodidae has 6 genera,Acrididae has 2 genera,and Acrididae has one genus only. Both of the diversity(0. 1357)and even-ness(0. 1103)of Phlaeoba are the highest and the diversity(0. 0028)and evenness(0. 0023)of Oedaleus are the lowest at the level of genus. Both of the diversity(0. 1596)and evenness(0. 1297)of Locustinae are the highest at the level of subfamily. The diversity(0. 1398)of Acrididae is the highest and Catantopidae′s Richness(1. 7628) is the highest by analysis at the level of family. Comprehensive analysis shows that Catantopidae grasshopper′s di-versity is the highest.
