Based on provincial panel data from 2016 to 2023 in China,using entripy method and principal com-ponent analysis method tests the impact of digital rural areas on rural ecological civilization construction.Theo-retical analysis shows that digital rural areas can empower the construction of rural ecological civilization through mechanisms such as upgrading industrial structure,amplifying the potential of data elements,and improving the quality of production factor supply.Empirical tests have shown that digital rural areas have a non-linear positive impact on the construction of rural ecological civilization,with a dual threshold characteristic in the overall and eastern regions of the country,and a single threshold characteristic in the central and western regions.
