Inheritance and Challenges:A Study on Martial Arts Development Under the Three-Figurative Culture Model
Based on the"Three-Figurative Culture" theory, this study explores three modes of martial arts inheritance. The find-ings suggest that under the pre-figurative culture, martial arts inheritance shows a singular relationship with a strong dependency between master and apprentice. In the co-figurative culture, the"cultural generational conflict" is evident, leading to the formal-ization of school martial arts due to conflicting educational philosophies and traditional cultural inheritance. Under the post-figura-tive culture, there is a shortage of professional martial arts talents and a lack of a comprehensive market system. Consequently, the study recommends:focusing on the master-apprentice cultural inheritance and optimizing the technical system in the pre-fig-urative culture mode;establishing a dialogue system between "tradition" and "modernity" to cultivate national spirit in the co-figurative culture mode;and enhancing innovation and talent development while improving the martial arts industry chain in the post-figurative culture mode.
