Effect of tuberculosis health education for residents in Meishan City from 2019 to 2022
Objective To analyze the effect of"Action Plan to Stop Tuberculosis in 2019 to 2022"on tuberculosis health education of residents in Meishan City by conducting a survey on the TB awareness rate of residents in Meishan City.Methods A stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 1 200 residents over 15 years with current address in Meishan City in 2020 and 2022 to conduct a questionnaire survey on the core information of tuberculosis.SPSS 21.0 was used for statistical analysis.Chi-square tests were used to compare the component ratios and rates in different groups.The significance level was set as α=0.05.Results The overall awareness rate of core knowledge of tuberculosis was 85.36%in 2020 and increased to 90.73%in 2022 in Meishan.In 2020 and 2022,the awareness rate of individual core knowledge was highest in core knowledge 2(89%),but the lowest in core knowledge 1,less than 85%.The awareness rate increased more than 5 percentage points in participants with education level of primary school or below,aged group 55 years and above,and agricultural workers and retired,and there were statistically significant differences in the awareness rate of groups with different characteristics before and after intervention(P<0.05).The main way for residents in Meishan to receive health education is through radio,TV,films,audio-video and other electronic network materials,accounting for more than 40%.Most residents still want to learn TB health education knowledge on the website/Wechat/Weibo/APP,but the willingness to learn TB health education knowledge from network platforms and doctors'publicity channels has seriously declined,exceeding 7%.Conclusions The implementation of the Action Plan to Stop Tuberculosis in 2019 to 2022 can promote the residents to master the knowledge of tuberculosis prevention and control in Meishan City.It is necessary to optimize the health education channels and knowledge coverage,and conduct diversified publicity and promotion forms.
