Epidemiological features of pesticide poisoning in Dayi County of Chengdu from 2013 to 2022
Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of pesticide poisoning in Dayi County of Chengdu,and to provide scientific basis for formulating prevention and control measures of pesticide poisoning.Methods Reported cases of pesticide poisoning in Dayi County from 2013 to 2022 were collected from the occupational disease network direct reporting system.SPSS 25.0 software was used for data analysis,and P<0.05 was considered as statistically significant.Results From 2013 to 2022,a total of 873 cases of pesticide poisoning were reported in Dayi County.The average annual incidence was 17.05/105,showing a linear downward trend(x2trend=52.488,P<0.001).Specifically,48 cases died,with the fatality rate of 5.50%.Productive pesticide poisoning mainly occurred from June to August,and non-productive pesticide poisoning mainly occurred from March to June.The mortality rate was highest in patients aged 60 years and above.The towns with the highest number of poisoning cases were Wangsi Town,Jinyuan Street and Shaqu Street.Herbicide is the main type of poison causing pesticide poisoning.Conclusions The incidence of pesticide poisoning in Dayi County showed a downward trend,and the prevention and control work had achieved certain results.However,effective measures should be taken to reduce non-productive self-administered poisoning,mistake pesticides in children and adolescents and to reduce the mortality of the elderly.
