Survey on AIDS related knowledge and behavior of college students in Jilin Province in 2021
Objective Through the investigation on the knowledge and behavior of AIDS prevention among college students in Jilin province,the influential factors were analyzed to provide a theoretical basis for controlling the spread of AIDS among young students.Methods From October to November 2021,students in four universities(key undergraduate,general undergraduate,independent college,junior college)in Changchun of Jilin province were randomly sampled to conduct a network questionnaire survey on their knowledge and behaviors related to AIDS through the questionnaire star mini program.The survey contents included basic information,knowledge and behaviors related to AIDS of college students.SPSS 24.0 software was used to analyze the factors affecting college students'AIDS related knowledge and behavior,and the test level was α=0.05.Results A total of 8 719 questionnaires were analyzed in this study.The knowledge awareness about AIDS of them accounted for 44.1%and 55.9%of them were lack of that.The knowledge of HIV/AIDS was grouped with multiple variables for univariate analysis,such as age(T=4.696,P<0.001),sex(x2=12.807,P<0.001),school type(x2=107.207,P<0.001),grade(x2=57.171,P<0.001),whether they were the only child(x2=4.897,P=0.027),the most important reasons for very low or relatively low risk of HIV infection(x2=25.681,P<0.001),and the number of years they had received HIV/AIDS-related education(x2=27.644,P<0.001),the differences was statistically significant.In this study,10.9%of the participants in the valid questionnaire had sexual behavior,49.8%of them knew the related knowledge of AIDS and 50.2%did not know.79.1%had a fixed partner,and the situation of condom use in the recent year was:45.5%of them used condoms every time;8.6%never used;And 30.5%of them had temporary partners,and the situation of the use of condom in the recent year with temporary partners was:56.4%of them used condoms every time;20.2%never used;Only 18.2%of college students had commercial sex,11.0%of them were gay and bisexual,and 52.6%of them used condoms when had sex with commercial partners in the recent year.Univariate analysis of condom use among 953 college students who had sex for the first time showed that the average monthly living expenses(x2=17.761,P<0.001),sexual orientation(x2=37.896,P<0.001),the degree of perceived risk of HIV infection(x2=24.910,P=0.002)had statistical significance.Conclusions College students in Jilin Province have poor knowledge about HIV/AIDS,especially their knowledge about basic common sense.Gender,school type and grade are the factors that affect college students'knowledge about AIDS.In the survey of sexual behavior,the proportion of standardized condom use among college students who have had gay sex is not high,so the basic education related to AIDS of college students in Jilin province needs to be strengthened.Disease control and related education departments can formulate more effective intervention measures according to the characteristics of college students of different genders and grades,and the sex education in college students should be strengthened to promote safe sex.
