Investigation of salmonella contamination in some commercially available foods and its molecular typing and drug resistance in Luoyang City from 2016 to 2022
Objective To understand the contamination and drug resistance of salmonella in some commercially available foods in Luoyang City, and to identify the source of its molecular typing. Methods Samples of 10 majors types of food sold in Luoyang City from 2016 to 2022 were collected for salmonella detection.Serological typing and 14 kinds of common antibiotic resistance detection were conducted of the detected strains.Molecular typing of isolates was analyzed by cluster analysis.Categorical variables were compared by Chi-square test or Fisher exact probability method.P<0.05 of two-sided was considered to be statistically significant. Results A total of 29 strains of salmonella were detected in 693 food samples, which belonged to 11 serotypes. The dominant serotypes were Salmonella Covalis and Salmonella typhimurium. The resistance rate to tetracycline was the highest(65.5%),followed by ciprofloxacin(44.8%).Multi-drug resistant stains accounted for 34.5%(10/29).There were 8 kinds of drug resistant spectrum, and the most common was CIP-NAL-TET.Seventeen bands were obtained by Xbal enzyme digestion, with 1-6 strains in each band, and the similarity of PFGE(pulsed-field gel electrophoresis)cluster analysis was 51.9%-100%.Conclusions The salmonella contamination in some commercially available foods in Luoyang City from 2016 to 2022 was mainly concentrated in meat and meat products.Salmonella Corvallis was first detected in poultry meat in Luoyang City, and the possibility of cross-contamination was suspected in the production chain of raw poultry and meat slaughtering. The food-derived salmonella was distributed and there was a single aggregation situation.
