Constructing a multidimensional social deprivation scale for the elderly based on Delphi method
Objective To construct a multidimensional social deprivation scale for the elderly,and to provide a measurement tool for evaluating multidimensional social deprivation in this population.Methods By using the Delphi method three rounds of expert consultation were conducted after 15 experts in relevant domains were chosen in November 2022.Epidata and SPSS 22.0 were used for data analysis.Questionnaire inquiry quality was assessed by expert positive coefficient,expert authority coefficient and Kendall coefficient(P<0.05).Results The multidimensional social deprivation scale for the elderly included four dimensions,including socioeconomic status,family and social support,political and social participation,and comprehensive feeling,with 25 items.The expert positive coefficients for the three rounds of consultation were 100%,the expert authority coefficients were 0.83,and the Kendall coefficients of dimensions,dimension contents and items were 0.452,0.373 and 0.512,respectively(all P<0.05).Conclusions The multidimensional social deprivation scale for the elderly based on the Delphi expert consultation method has high scientific and reliability.It can be used as a tool for assessing multidimensional social deprivation among the elderly in China.
