Reported cases of occupational chemical poisoning in Sichuan Province from 2013 to 2022
Objective To analyze the incidence and distribution characteristics of occupational chemical poisoning in Sichuan Province, and provide a basis for the prevention and control of occupational poisoning. Methods Occupational poisoning cases from 2013 to 2022 in Sichuan Province were collected from the Occupational Disease and Health Hazard Monitoring Information System of the China Center for Disease Control.SPSS 26.0 software was used to analyze the distribution characteristics of the cases.Pearson x2 test was used for inter group comparison, the significance level α was set as 0.05.Results A total of 375 cases of occupational poisoning were reported in Sichuan Province in the past 10 years, including 145 cases(38.67%)of acute occupational poisoning and 230 cases(61.33%)of chronic occupational poisoning.Twelve deaths were caused by acute occupational poisoning. The average age of occupational poisoning cases was 43.52±8.58 years, with the highest number of cases aged between 41 and 50 years(accounting for 52.53%of total cases). There are 286 male cases(76.27%)and 89 female cases(27.73%).The cases are mainly distributed in cities, such as Chengdu,Panzhihua,Deyang, and Yibin(295 cases, accounting for 78.67%of total cases). The cases were mainly from manufacturing industry, followed by mining industry. The main toxic substances involved were benzene poisoning, followed by carbon monoxide, phosphorus, and their compounds. Conclusions Occupational poisoning is still severe in Sichuan Province.Although it has shown a downward trend in the past three years, there is still a risk of poisoning. It is necessary to focus on treating toxic substances such as benzene, phosphorus and its compounds, carbon disulfide, etc.,strengthen enterprise supervision, avoid safety accidents, and prevent group occupational poisoning.
