Comparative analysis on adolescent prevalence among tobacco in Chongming District of Shanghai in 2019 and 2021
Objective To understand the tobacco epidemic situation and change trend of teenagers in Chongming district of Shanghai in the past three years,and to analyze the influencing factors of their smoking behavior,so that to provide a basis for relevant departments to formulate their tobacco control intervention measures.Methods By using the multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method,599 students and 682 students were selected as respondents in 2019 and 2021.The x2 test was used to compare the change of tobacco epidemic characteristics in 2 years,and the multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the related influencing factors.Results Smoking rate in junior high school students in 2021 was 11%,higher than that in 2019(6.2%)(x2=4.589,P=0.032);In 2021 it was 14.2%among vocational high school students,lower than that in 2019(26.0%)(x2=4.857,P=0.028).The differences were statistically significant;In 2021,38.2%of girls will definitely think it was difficult to quit smoking,and 44.8%of middle school students and 35.2%of high school students will definitely think it was difficult to quit smoking,differences between the above data compared with 2019 was statistically significant(P<0.05).In 2021,79.3%of the girls positively believed that the smoke produced by others smoking was harmful to them,it was higher than that in 2019(72.1%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that smoking among good friends(in 2019 OR=16.612,95%CI:3.473-79.461,in 2021 OR=24.722,95%CI:5.145-118.805)were risk factors for smoking behavior.Conclusions The smoking prevalence among adolescents in Chongming district is relatively low,but the tobacco education for junior high school students should be taken seriously,and peer education should be strengthened,and smoking harm publicity and smoking cessation intervention should be continued in schools.
