Comparison on health literacy levels of residents in Shibei district,Qingdao city and analysis on influencing factors in 2017 and 2022
Objective To investigate the health literacy level of residents in Shibei district of Qingdao city in 2017 and 2022,to compare the differences in the health literacy level of residents between the 2 years,and to analyze the influencing factors.Methods By using the National Residents'Health Literacy Monitoring Questionnaire,a health literacy ques-tionnaire survey was conducted in 2017 and 2022 according to the multi-stage stratified random sampling method for per-manent residents aged 15-69 years old in Shibei district of Qingdao city.We analyze the health literacy level of the resi-dents,and to set up a binary logistic regression model to analyze the effects of gender,age,and literacy on the health litera-cy level.Results There were 1 515 people surveyed in 2017 and 911 people surveyed in 2022.The health literacy level of the population was 21.30%in 2017 and 35.74%in 2022.Health literacy levels increased significantly in 35-44 age group.In 2017 and 2022,the basic knowledge and concept literacy of the population was 39.70%and 46.59%respective-ly,the healthy lifestyle and behavior literacy was 26.00%and 37.39%respectively,the health skills literacy was 27.30%and 35.80%respectively,the scientific view of health literacy was 46.80%and 57.08%respectively,the infectious disease prevention and treatment literacy was 21.85%and 39.91%respectively;the chronic disease prevention and treatment lit-eracy was 30.00%and 39.39%respectively,the safety and first aid literacy was 45.80%and 64.82%respectively,the basic health care literacy was 23.10%and 23.10%respectively and 39.91%respectively;chronic disease prevention and treatment literacy was 30.00%and 39.38%respectively,safety and first aid literacy was 45.80%and 64.82%respective-ly,basic medical literacy was 23.10%and 29.96%respectively,and health information literacy was 45.80%and 60.51%respectively.The influencing factors of health literacy level in Shibei district of Qingdao city in 2017 were literacy,occupation,and annual household income,among which the OR of college/undergraduate and above was the highest in education level(OR=0.510,95%CI:0.357-0.728),and that of occupation was the highest in the other group(OR=0.643,95%CI:0.440-0.940).For annual household income,the difference was statistically significant in the 10 000 to 20 000 yuan group(P<0.01,OR=0.086,95%CI:0.020-0.374).The only influencing factor in 2022 was literacy,and the difference was statistically significant in the college/bachelor's degree and above group(P<0.05,OR=4.944,95%CI:1.071-22.826).Conclusion Compared to 2017,the health literacy of residents in Shibei district of Qingdao city increased faster in 2022;The level of health literacy of residents is associated to education level,occupation,and annual household income.
