Analysis on epidemiological characteristics and disease burden of cervical cancer in Weihai city from 2015 to 2022
Objective To understand the main epidemiological characteristics and disease burden trends of cervical cancer in Weihai city. Methods Using the monitoring data of malignant tumors among residents and population data in Weihai city from 2015 to 2022,the incidence, prevalence, mortality, the premature death loss life years(YLL),the disability loss life years(YLD),annual disability adjusted life years(DALY),and corresponding adjustment rate of cervical cancer were calculated. The rate of the annual percentage change(APC)was calculated using the Joinpoint software, and the main epi-demiological characteristics and changes in disease burden were analyzed. Results From 2015 to 2022,the crude inci-dence of cervical cancer in Weihai city fluctuated from 14.91/105 to 20.41/105,and the adjusted rate was from 10.05/105 to 13.29/105;the crude prevalence fluctuated from 32.10/105 to 131.02/105,and the adjusted rate was from 21.68/105 to 78.13/105;the crude mortality fluctuated from 2.35/105 to 4.93/105,and the adjusted rate was from 1.52/105 to 2.94/105.The increase of crude prevalence, crude mortality, and adjusted prevalence was statistically significant(t=10.454,2.586 and 8.770,P<0.05).The incidence of age group was the highest in the 45-54 year old group;Except for the 35-44 year old group, the annual age group incidence showed an upward trend, with statistically significant increases in the 25-34,55-64,75 and above(t=3.181,4.574 and 3.935,P<0.05).The DALY fluctuated from 0.45 to 0.78‰,the YLL fluctuated from 0.37 to 0.68‰,and YLD fluctuated from 0.08 to 0.10‰;the DALY rate was generally highest in the 45-54 year old group;the YLD rate of the 25-34 and 55-64 year old groups and the YLD rate and YLL rate of the 75 and above showed an upward trend with statistically significant differences(t=2.650,4.360,2.721 and 4.204,P<0.05).Conclusion The annual incidence, mortality and health burden of cervical cancer in Weihai city remained stable, and the increase of crude mortality was associated with age-ing.Trends in morbidity and health burden for different age groups varied from year to year, with a clear trend towards younger morbidity and an increased health burden at older ages.
