Serological monitoring and health education effect analysis on key occupations of human brucellosis in Qufu city,Shandong province from 2019 to 2023
Objective To analyze the serological monitoring results and health education effects of key occupational groups of human brucellosis in Qufu city,Shandong province from 2019 to 2023,so as to provide scientific basis for brucel-losis prevention and control. Methods From 2019 to 2023,serum samples were collected from key occupational groups such as cattle and sheep breeders, butchers, cattle and sheep traders, and veterinarians in Qufu city,Shandong prov-ince.The samples were initially screened using the Rose bengal plate agglutination test, and positive serum was detected u-sing the Rose bengal plate agglutination test. Then the positive samples were retested using the standard tube agglutina-tion test(SAT),and a titer of 1:100++or higher was considered positive.A baseline survey and a questionnaire on bru-cellosis were conducted to analyze the effect of health education. Results From 2019 to 2023,a total of 2 756 sera were monitored, and 87 were positive for tiger red plate agglutination test, with a positive rate of 3.16%(87/2 756).The posi-tive infections were mainly concentrated in 3 age groups of 40-49 and 50-59 and ≥60 years old, accounting for 93.10%(81/87).The occupational infection rates of cattle and sheep breeding, slaughtering and processing, and livestock product traders were 86.21%(75/87),12.64%(11/87)and 1.15%(1/87),respectively,and there was a statistically significant in the infection rate of brucellosis in different occupations(x2=74.94,P<0.05).The core awareness rate of brucellosis was 60.85%(1 380/2 268)and 84.10%(2 052/2 440),respectively,and the utilization rate of cattle and sheep was 62.96%(357/567)and 85.90%(524/610),with statistically significant difference(=321.65,82.14,P<0.05).Conclusion From 2019 to 2023,the reported incidence of human brucellosis in Qufu city,Shandong province showed a fluctuating upward trend, and cattle and sheep farmers were the high incidence population of brucellosis.Carrying out health interventions can significantly improve the knowledge level of brucellosis prevention and control among key occupational groups with brucellosis.
