Analysis on prevalence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection in Qingdao city from October 2023 to March 2024
Objective Surveillance data of Mycoplasma pneumoniae(MP)infection in winter and spring of 2023-2024 were analyzed based on multi-source surveillance data in Qingdao city,so as to provide reference for respiratory infectious disease surveillance and early warning.Methods From October 2023 to March 2024,symptoms and diagnostic surveil-lance,respiratory multipathogen testing in sentinel surveillance hospitals,weekly statistics of fever outpatient volume and MP infection diagnosis in medical institutions above the second level were collected from the Multi-point Trigger Surveillance and Early Warning System for Infectious Diseases in Qingdao city,and the data from multiple sources were synthesized and analyzed.Results Symptom monitoring showed a consistent trend in the number of diagnoses of fever,cough,and pneumonia or mycoplasma infection;The confirmed number of fever clinics and MP infections in medical institutions at or above the second level reached its peak in mid December.The number of MP infection cases received and hospitalized by sentinel monitoring hospitals reached its peak during the period from mid October to mid December;The results of mul-tiple pathogens showed that the main respiratory pathogens during the monitoring period were MP,COVID-19,respiratory syncytial virus,adenovirus,influenza virus.Conclusion The infection of MP in Qingdao city started in mid October 2023 and reached its peak in mid December.Multi-pathogen test results can explain the pathogen composition of febrile pa-tients attending clinics at different times of the day,enabling early warnings to be issued and measures to be taken in ad-vance.
