Analysis on influencing factors of COVID-19 cognition, risk perception and preventive behavior among compulsory drug addicts in shandong province
Objective To understand the situation of COVID-19 infection,COVID-19 cognition, risk perception,preven-tive behavior and related influencing factors among compulsory drug addicts in Shandong province,so as to provide refer-ence for cognitive education of emerging infectious diseases among the special population and epidemic prevention and con-trol in closed places. Methods Compulsory drug addicts in Shandong province were recruited in August 2023 to conduct a face-to-face questionnaire survey to collect demographic characteristics,COVID-19 cognition, risk perception and preven-tive behavior.Logistic regression and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the related influencing factors of CO-VID-19's cognition, risk perception and preventive behavior. Results A total of 137 drug addicts were investigated,of whom65.0%(89/137)were male,81.0%(111/137)were heterosexual,19.7%(27/137)were HIV-infected.There were 76.6%(105/137)of drug addicts entered the drug rehabilitation center for the first time,80.3%(110/137)were infected with COVID-19,54.7%(75/137)had low awareness of COVID-19.Logistic regression analysis showed that male(OR=3.788,95%CI:1.356-10.526,P=0.011),junior high school education or below(OR=4.587,95%CI:1.095-19.230,P=0.014),the occupation before admission was self-employed(OR=6.047,95%CI=1.319-27.724,P=0.021),and the isolation duration of>3 weeks(OR=3.033,95%CI:1.111-8.281,P=0.030)had a lower level of awareness of COVID-19.According to the multiple linear regression equation, the longer the isolation time(B=2.838,P=0.007),the higher the risk perception level of COVID-19.The older the first drug user(B=1.994,P=0.012),the better the preventive behavior in COVID-19.Correlation analysis showed that the risk perception level of drug addicts was positively correlated with preventive behavior(r=0.226,P<0.01).Conclusion COVID-19's cognitive level of male, junior high school and below educated drug addicts is low;Isolation time is the influencing factor of risk per-ception level in COVID-19.The age of taking drugs for the first time is related to the preventive behavior in COVID-19.Corresponding health education should be carried out for this population in the future.
