Survey and analysis on allocation of radiological diagnosis and treatment resources in medical institutions in Jinan city,Shandong province in 2023
Objective To investigate the allocation and distribution of radiological diagnosis and treatment resources in Ji-nan city of Shandong province in 2023,so as to provide a basis for the health administration to plan and allocate the radio-logical diagnosis and treatment resources in a rational way. Methods In accordance with 2023 programme of the Jinan Radiological Health Surveillance Project, the basic situation of radioactive medical institutions, the configuration of radioac-tive medical equipment and workers in Jinan city was investigated with special questionnaires. Results There were 299 radioactive medical institutions,1 601 radioactive medical equipment and 5 784 workers in Jinan city in 2023.The average number of radioactive medical institutions, equipment and workers per 10 000 population was 0.32,1.70 and 6.14 respec-tively.About 59.20%(177/299)of the radioactive medical institutions located in 5 districts of the central urban are-a.There were 33 tertiary hospitals and 41 secondary hospitals in 5 districts respectively, accounting for 80.49%(33/41)and 71.93%(41/57)of the total number of tertiary hospitals and secondary hospitals respectively. The number of prima-ry hospitals was the largest, accounting for 36.79%(110/299),while the number of tertiary hospitals was the smallest, accounting for 13.71%(41/299).The proportions of X-ray imaging diagnosis institutions, radiotherapy institutions,nu-clear medicine institutions and interventional radiology institutions were 99.67%(298/299),9.03%(27/299),5.69%(17/299)and 16.05%(48/299),respectively.Among the 1 601 radioactive medical equipment, the number of X-ray ima-ging diagnosis equipment was the largest, accounting for 86.63%(1 387/1 601),followed by interventional radiology equipment, which accounted for 7.0%(112/1 601).The number of nuclear medicine equipment was the least, accounting for 2.44%(39/1 601).There was a significant disparity in the number of radioactive medical equipment among hospitals of different levels.Tertiary hospitals were equipped with all types of radioactive medical equipments and had the most radioactive medical equipment, accounting for 49.59%(794/1 601).Primary hospitals were only equipped with X-ray imaging diagnosis equipment, accounting for 15.87%(254/1601).Among the 5 784 radioactive medical workers, those engaged in X-ray imaging diagnosis, interventional radiology,ra-diotherapy,and nuclear medicine accounted for 60.41%(3 494/5 784),26.28%(1 520/5 784),9.42%(545/5 784)and 3.89%(225/5 784),respectively.The proportions of radioactive medical workers in tertiary hospitals, secondary hospi-tals,primary hospitals, and ungraded hospitals were 69.16%(4 000/5 784),19.35%(1 119/5 784),6.74%(390/5 784)and 4.75%(275/5 784),respectively.Conclusion The distribution of radiological diagnosis and treatment resources in Jinan city was unbalanced among different districts and different graded radioactive medical hospitals. The allocation of ra-diological diagnosis and treatment resources in tertiary hospitals was relatively sufficient, while that in primary hospitals was relatively weak. The overall resource allocation per capita was not high.
