During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, doctors launched a series of critical academic arguments towards the theories of Cold-Damage and Warm diseases. In order to cope with the differentiation between Cold and Warm febrile diseases, the doctors in Jiangnan of Qing Dynasty,in view of the characteristics of the disease spectrum caused by the humid and warm climate in the south, discussed the exogenous diseases of four seasons due to six-qi disharmony in terms of"Ganzheng(contagion syndrome)",mostly under the frame of theoretical system of Cold-Damage.Since the middle-Qing era,the theory of recently-affected Warm diseases has been widely spread. On the basis of the original theory system of"Ganzheng",doctors then absorbed the emerging knowledge of Warm diseases creatively to achieve knowledge reproduction, reflecting the process of inheritance, transformation and integration between the theories of Cold-Damage and Warm diseases in the Qing Dynasty.
