MIAO Xiyong was a renowned physician in the late Ming Dynasty, not only for his excellent medical skills, but also as an important figure in the circles of literati and Buddhists in his time, winning due attention by scholars on researches of TCM history and Jiangnan social history. However,as a prestigious TCM physician and a Confucius intellectual who earned good fame in the royal court, there is no accurate statement on the years of MIAO's birth and death in academia;especially for his birth, there have been many different versions circulating for a long time which differ from each other greatly. This article takes base in MIAO's own manuscript in Jing Shan Zang(《径山藏》Jingshan Collection of Buddhist Texts),rectifies former textual research based on ZHU Guozhen's birthday-congratulation text, with reference from relevant literature, and concludes that MIAO was born in 1553(32nd Year of Jiajing)and died in the range from Sixth Month of 1625(5th Year of Tianqi)to Third Month of 1626.
