Cheng Yongpei was a Qing bibliophile from Suzhou(Jiangsu province),born in the 8th year of Yongzheng(1730)and died before the 4th year of Jiaqing(1799).CHENG was acquainted with many bibliophiles and literati in Jiangnan region,who helped him to compile the Liu Li Zhai Yi Shu(《六醴斋医书》Liuli Study Medical Books).It is a series of medical books in fifty-five volumes,printed and collated by Cheng to populate medical knowledge and service his countrymen.The collection is esteemed for its practicality and meticulous editing,and it remained to be highly regarded even during the Republican era as a rare reliable edition of medical literature,and thus is still of great academic and medical values to the present.
