The culture of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)is in the same lineage as the excellent traditional Chinese culture,and contains the cultural gene of"Chineseness".Observing the formation and development of TCM from a historical perspective,the concept of life cognition centered on"unity of heaven and man",the way of body cognition based on"image thinking,fuzzy thinking and intuitive realization",and the health code of conduct based on"peacefulness and harmony to create a balanced state"all reflect the cultural genes embedded in Chineseness,which is also the foundation of TCM to follow its own developmental rules.The study found that the eastward transmission of Western medicine has profoundly affected the cultural cognition and historical direction of"Chineseness"in China,which,to a certain extent,has led to the cultural questioning and academic disorientation in the development of TCM.In the new era,the high-quality development of TCM needs to be rooted in the genes of excellent traditional Chinese culture,and it is necessary to follow the intrinsic qualities of Chineseness closely and to establish a high degree of cultural self-confidence to build a new pattern for the high-quality development of TCM according to its own principles.
