Whether in the field of natural science or humanities,the care and discussion of the body has had a long history.At the same time,the application of images as historical evidence is on the upsurge,combined with the history of the body,giving birth to a new research area,namely the history of the body images.The body images in ancient literature of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)are numerous and diverse in content.Based on this,research on TCM body images has accumulated rich experience and attempted to establish a certain paradigm.Throughout ancient and modern times,the authors propose three feasible paths for further research on the body images of TCM:the natural history of the body images,the uses of images as historical evidence,that is,iconographical description of the body images(图像志释读),and to establish iconological analysis(图像学分析)on the body images.
