Concerning Li Jun's visit to Japan and medical books brought back with him,there had been not so much existing research due to the lack of literature.Fortunately,Huo Zhai Yi Mu(《豁斋医目》Medical Catalogue of Huozhai)stored in the archive of Peking Union Medical College provided clues to research Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)books obtained by Li Jun.According to Huo Zhai Yi Mu and the existing collection of Li Jun in Peking Union Medical College,he took back multiple rare TCM books.In terms of quantity,there were more than 200 TCM books featuring Kampo books written in Japanese.In terms of quality,there were more than ten TCM books which had been lost for a long time in China and not been perceived by Yang Shoujing and other visitors,such as Wei Sheng Jia Bao Fang(《卫生家宝方》Treasured Household Formulas for Health),Wei Sheng Jia Bao Tang Fang(《卫生家宝汤方》Treasured Household Decoction Formulas for Health),Dan Liao Ji Yan Mi Fang(《澹寮集验秘方》Collection of Proven Secret Formulas by Tanliao),and many old collections and copies from Japanese scholars and doctors.In summary,while Li Jun's achievements in collecting TCM books were not as extensive as those of Yang Shoujing,they were not far behind those of Li Shengduo and significantly surpassed the efforts of Luo Zhenyu and other scholars,meriting further studies by the academic community.
