In 1984,a journal titled Yi Gu Wen Zhi Shi(《医古文知识》Knowledge of Ancient Medical Literature)was published amidst the eager anticipation of massive young medical students and medical workers eager for science and knowledge.During the first twenty-two years of development,the journal's mission shifted from solidifying a foundational understanding of medical workers'knowledge of ancient medical literature and improving their related reading ability to disseminating Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)knowledge combining literature,history,philosophy,medicine,and art.In 2006,the journal was renamed Zhong Yi Yao Wen Hua(《中医药文化》Chinese Medical Culture),with the aim of developing it into an influential academic journal.To date,Zhong Yi Yao Wen Hua has become one of the most important platforms for academic dissemination and exchange in the field of TCM with the joint efforts of the editorial team and the medical community.The journal highlighted the outstanding achievements of esteemed scholars,promoted scholarly works by emerging talents,connected distinguished scholars from various disciplines,outlined cutting-edge research topics in the field of medical humanities,and built bridges for communication among domestic and international scholars,thus creating a harmonious and warm atmosphere for academic research.The journal has made significant contributions to the development of TCM scholarship,general education,and scientific outreach,whose importance and value would be remembered in the hearts of those dedicated to TCM.
