Cave 3 of Yungang Grottoes is the largest cave in Yungang Grottoes,but it was not completed for some reason.Ac-cording to the investigation of the existing relics,the twin towers above the outer platform of Cave 3 were to be carved into double gate tower-style buildings and a large niche was to be carved below Maitreya's attic,the door of the existing front chamber corre-sponded to the window of the back room,and a central tower column cave should be designed in the back chamber.In addition,the reason for the suspension of construction of Cave 3 is closely related to Emperor Xiaowen's move to Luoyang.From its relics,it is possible to conduct a preliminary speculation on the architectural planning at that time.
