The Chinese Buddhism began to spread back to the Western Regions during Tang dynasty.Buddhist monasteries of Chinese style appeared in large numbers in Beiting,and grottoes were engraved as well.Beiting Buddhism gradually formed in the north of the Tianshan Mountains.Wukong and Siladharma,the eminent monks,once translated Buddhist scriptures in Beiting,which was included in Zhenyuan Buddhist Record later.After Song dynasty,Buddhism was still dominant in Beiting area during the period of Uyghur Khaganate in Gaochang,and the Buddhist temples and Sutras of the Tang Dynasty were well preserved.
