Study on the Adsorption Properties of Acid Modified Attapulgite to Cesium Ions in Water
Cesium is an important rare metal element, which is widely used in aerospace, medical, special glass and other fields. In recent years, the separation and extraction technology of cesium resources and their applications have been deeply studied, among which adsorption method,as one of the most promising separation and extraction methods, has always been a research hotspot in this field.Attapulgite adsorption material(ACH-3)was prepared by modifying attapulgite with hydrochloric acid. The structure of the com-posite was characterized by XRD,FT-IR,SEM,BET and XRF.The adsorption properties of ACH-3 to Cs+in water were investigated. The effects of temperature, initial pH,initial concentration and amount of adsor-bent on the adsorption performance of ACH-3 were investigated. The results show that at 25 ℃,pH=9 and Cs+concentration of 200 mg/L,the maximum adsorption capacity of ACH-3 on Cs+is 78.99 mg/g,which is ten times of the adsorption capacity of raw attapulgite(7.41 mg/g).Combined with the XPS spec-tra,FT-IR spectra and kinetic curves of the adsorption of cesium ions by ACH-3,it is suggested that the ad-sorption of cesium ions by ACH-3 is the result of the synergistic effect of electrostatic attraction and cation exchange reaction.
