Optimal Strategy in Queueing System with Working Breakdowns and Additional Service
In order to expand queueing theory, this paper studies the queueing system with working breakdowns and additional service. We derive the state probability of the servers by using the method of probability generating function, which provides performance measures such as the average queue length in the steady state. The cost function is constructed and particle swarm optimization technique is used to find out the optimal service rate and the expected minimum cost for different states. The influence of system parameters on system performance measures, optimal service rate and the minimum cost is investigated through numerical analysis.Based on the reward-cost structure,we establish the individual utility function and the social benefit function. The sensitivity of system performance measures and benefit function provides theoretical support for queueing problems in real life.
