Determination of aluminum, magnesium, iron and silicon in galvanized sheet by electrolysis-inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry
When the existing national standard method(GB/T 24514-2009)is used to detect Al,Mg,Fe and Si in coating later of galvanized sheet, the coating solution is obtained by adding hydrochloric acid(5%-15%)and a small amount of corrosion inhibitor. However, the zinc layer in the hydrochloric acid solution is active,so it may cause substrate dissolution during the stripping process of galvanizing layer. In this study, the electrolysis method was used for the effective separation of galvanizing layer from the substrate in the neutral electrolyte.Hydrochloric acid was added into the electrolyte to dissolve the salts. The method for the determination of aluminum, magnesium, iron and silicon in the galvanized sheet by electrolysis-induc-tively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES)was established. The current in the electro-lytic process in experiments was 0.20 A.Moreover, the proper endpoint for electrolysis was also deter-mined.The calibration curves were prepared by matrix matching method. The correlation coefficients of cal-ibration curves of elements were all higher than 0.999 9.The limits of detection of this method were be-tween 0.000 20%and 0.001 6%,and the limits of quantification were between 0.000 7%and 0.005 3%.The contents of aluminum, magnesium, iron and silicon in the galvanized sheet were determined according to the experimental method. The relative standard deviations(RSD,n=8)of determination results were be-tween 1.2%and 2.6%,and the recoveries were between 99%and 102%.The measurement results were compared with those obtained by GB/T 24514-2009,and it was found that the consistency was good.
