Application of Minitab software for quality control analysis and evaluation of silicon dioxide in magnetite
The reference materials are usually used as analytical samples for internal quality control in labo-ratories.The absolute difference value between the measured value and the certified value of reference ma-terial is compared with the critical value.The analysis and evaluation of results can be realized using Excel or Wps software,which doesn't require high ability for the evaluators.However,it is not suitable for the critical value calculation with a large number of tests.Minitab software is an important tool in modern qual-ity management with powerful functions,which can quickly realize the data statistics such as mean,normal-ity,norm interquartile range(IQR),outlier,quality control chart and Youden plot.In this study,Minitab software was used to analyze the double samples quality control data of silicon dioxide in magnetite,and three kinds of critical value formulas were used for evaluation.The results showed that the evaluation re-sults of intermediate precision critical value were 95%satisfactory,and the critical value was about 35%-83%of other methods,indicating that the evaluation of intermediate precision critical value could achieve the purpose of strict quality control.According to the Z-scores of sample A and sample B in statistic,only the results of 37th group were suspicious.The inter-laboratory Z-score(ZB)and intra-laboratory Z-score(Zw)were further analyzed,and the results showed that the values of two groups were suspicious:the ZB value of the 19th group data was-2.19,and the Zw value of the 34th group data was 2.59.Rapid statistics of quality control results could be achieved by Minitab software to effectively find out the suspicious data and further correct the non-standard operation of personnels.Therefore,it had a strong practical signifi-cance.
