Determination of lanthanum in copper-chromium alloy by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry
The addition of lanthanum in copper-chromium alloy can improve the alloy properties and reduce the segregation. However, the material quality can be also affected if excessive lanthanum is added. In this study, the sample was dissolved by adding hydrochloric acid and nitric acid stepwise.La 408.672 nm was selected as the analytical spectral line, and the content of lanthanum in copper-chromium alloy was deter-mined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES).The mass concentration of lanthanum in range of 0.050-2.00 µg/mL had a good linear relationship with the corresponding emission in-tensity,and the linear correlation coefficient was 0.999 97.The limit of detection of method was 0.000 27%.The interference of matrix effect and coexisting elements was investigated, and the results showed that the cop-per matrix and other elements in copper-chromium alloy had no significant influence on the determination of lanthanum. The content of lanthanum in copper-chromium alloy sample was determined according to the experimental method. The relative standard deviations(RSD,n=11)of the results were between 1.5%and 2.0%.The recoveries were between 96%and 104%.
