Research progress on the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer and related signal pathway
Diabetic foot ulcer(DFU)is one of the most threatening chronic complications of diabetes, which seriously damages the quality of life and health of patients, and is an important problem to be solved in clinical work.Wound healing consists of four dy-namic processes:hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling, all of which are disrupted in the case of DFU,leading to delayed healing and even lower limb amputation.Previous studies mainly focused on diabetes peripheral arterial occlusive disease,neu-ropathy and wound infection. In recent years, the signal pathways related to the wound healing mechanism of diabetes foot ulcers has become a research hotspot. At present, some studies have shown that some drugs or treatment methods play a role in wound healing through different signal pathways.Due to the high incidence of treatment failure in DFU and the incomplete understanding of its poten-tial molecular mechanisms, there is still an urgent need to seek effective methods to treat DFU.This article mainly reviews different signaling pathways related to DFU treatment, including PI3K/Akt pathway,NF-κB pathway,Nrf2 pathway and other related signaling pathways, and they are introduced from the aspects of inflammation, proliferation, immunity, etc,so as to clarify the importance of these pathways in the mechanism of diabetic wound healing and provide new ideas for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
