Analysis on association between geriatric nutritional risk index and prognosis of advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients
Objective To investigate the relevance of geriatric nutritional risk index(GNRI)on the prognosis of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods A total of 117 elderly advanced NSCLC patients with nega-tive driver gene who were diagnosed in the Department of Medical Oncology of the People's Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Au-tonomous Region from January 2017 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The baseline data of the patients,labo-ratory test results, and imaging findings were collected, and the survival status of the patients were followed up through vari-ous methods. Results Compared with the high GNRI group(GNRI>98,n=35),patients in the low GNRI group(GNRI≤98,n=82)were more likely to experience pleural metastasis and decreased albumin, and difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).According to the Kaplan Meier curve, the low GNRI group had worse progression free survival(9 months vs 19 months,P<0.001)and overall survival(16 months vs 41 months,P<0.001).Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that low GNRI was an independent risk factor for overall survival(P<0.05).Conclusion GNRI is a simple and effective potential predictor of outcome and survival in elderly patients with progressive NSCLC,and low GNRI may be associated with worse prognosis.
