Study on correlation between changes in blood flow,MR signal intensity and the efficacy of microwave ablation for uterine fibroids
Objective To explore relationship between blood flow, magnetic resonance (MR) signal intensity and the effi-cacy of microwave ablation for uterine fibroids. Methods 64 patients with 79 uterine fibroids diagnosed by MR in Red Cross Hospital of Yulin City from July 2021 to June 2023 were selected and treated with microwave ablation.According to MR signal intensity, they were divided into high signal group ( n=19),equal signal group ( n=40) and low signal group ( n=20).And then, volume, reduction rate, blood flow grade and curative effect of fibroids before and after operation were compared.Re-sults The volume of fibroids before operation was12.68(5.80,20.21) cm3,the volume of fibroids was 4.00(1.32,7.35) cm3 at 12 months after operation, and the volume reduction rate of fibroids was 73.98 (49.19,84.97)%.There was statisti-cally significant difference in the blood flow grades of different signal intensities ( Z=15.579,P<0.05).There was statistically significant difference in efficacy between different signal groups (Z=18.327,P<0.001).There was statistically significant difference in efficacy between different blood flow grades (Z=16.518,P<0.001).Logistic regression analysis showed that blood flow ( OR=2.819) and MR signal intensity ( OR=0.173) were factors affecting the ablation effect of microwave ablation in patients (P<0.05).Conclusion Blood flow and MR signal intensity are factors affecting the efficacy of microwave ablation of uterine fibroids, which can be used to predict the efficacy of microwave ablation of uterine fibroids.
