Research on Spectrum Unfolding Method for Gamma-ray Spectral Logging Based on CeBr3 Detector
In the mixed deposit of uranium and thorium, the influence of thorium on total γ logging results is difficult to directly deduct.Due to the limitations of detector volume and measurement time, traditional spectral analysis methods are low in sensitivity and relatively large in errors.Based on the newly developed CeBr3 detector,an experimental research on the spectral analysis method of γ spectral logging tool was conducted according to the characteristic peaks of spectral data.An extended energy window for spectral analysis was used which significantly improved the sensitivity of uranium content detection, reduced the relative error of uranium content measurement results. The results show that the extended energy window inverse matrix method for spectral analysis has increased the sensitivity of uranium content by more than three times compared to the traditional standard energy window inverse matrix method. The absolute value of the relative error of the measurement results decreased to 4.9%.from 9.2%.The absolute value of relative error of uranium and thorium content measured on the uranium thorium mixed model source is less than 5%,and the absolute value of the relative error of the main nuclide content measured on the uranium and thorium single nuclide model source is less than 5%.Therefor,the extended energy window spectral analysis method can improve logging accuracy and the extended energy window inverse matrix spectral analysis method is of practical significance for accurately measuring the content of uranium and thorium in the mixed deposits of uranium and thorium.
