Characteristics of Local Discharge Source and Its Relationship With Uranium Mineralization in the Lower Member of Yaojia Formation in the Southwest of Songliao Basin
The aquifer in the lower member of the Upper Cretaceous Yaojia Formation in the southwestern part of the Songliao Basin is an important target for uranium mineralization. In order to deeply understand the uranium mineralization mechanism in this area, this paper studied the characteristics of local discharge sources in the lower member of the Yaojia Formation and its controlling effect on uranium mineralization.Hydrogeological analysis, determination of radioactive element content, analysis of hydrochemical characteristics and other means, the local excretion sources and their relationship with uranium mineralization were studied in depth combined with the study of regional structure and aquifer structure. The study revealed that the lower member of the Yaojia Formation is of complete recharge-runoff-discharge system.large areas diving oxidation zone are developed in the recharge area, and interlayer oxidation zone are developed in the runoff area.More importantly,a local discharge source was identified in the runoff area as a hidden discharge source which was found causing a series hydrogeological characteristics changes in the local discharge source area during the discharge of groundwater from the target aquifer to the upper Quaternary.Because the spatial presence of local discharge sources has a controlling effect on the formation of uranium mineralization, therefor.the hidden discharge source provides an important theoretical basis for further exploration of uranium deposits in the southwestern part of the Songliao Basin.
