A Study on the Prospecting and Prediction Method for Sandstone Type Uranium Deposits Based on Geological Information from Seismic Sections in the Southern Songliao Basin
During the uranium exploration process,a large number of seismic profiles were collected for the the sandstone type uranium deposit in the southern Songliao Basin. Some implicit geological information in the seismic profiles was not fully excavated. This article, from the perspective of geology and geophysical exploration based on past uranium exploration experience comprehensively analyzed and secondary developed the collected seismic profiles to improve the utilization rate of seismic data,Further leverage the guiding role of seismic data in the exploration of sandstone type uranium deposits. The author identified the structural and sedimentary elements in seismic profiles, projected the various elements onto a plan for stacking and screening, and then determined the favorable locations for uranium mineralization. The prospecting prediction method combined the predicted results of inversion and strike slip structure, braided river sand body, unconformity surface, uplift structure, and depression. The lithology and geochemical environment are used as the control indicators, combined with the information of surrounding single and continuous boreholes,to achieve the prediction of favorable sand bodies for uranium mineralization. The article proposed that the sedimentary strata in the southern depression of the Songliao Basin were located in the context of a dextral strike slip structure. The local areas of the strike slip fault formed a compressive stress field, resulting in a reverse structure and the formation of an ancient uplift. This process was accompanied by the formation of a tensile stress field, resulting in the formation of deep depressions. The transition zone between the ancient uplift and the deep depressions formed a series of mountain valley terrains with braided rivers, the transformation of stress field formed a series of unconformity interfaces and local uplift structures, which controlled the specific location of uranium mineralization.Whether rich ore body will ultimately form or not depends on the specific location of oxidation-reduction transition zone.13 sand bodies with high potential for uranium mineralization were predicted in the periphery that can be verified by the next drilling project. The predicted results are consistent with the positions of some peripheral uranium ore bodies.Among them,2 favorable sand bodies were found near 2 uranium ore producing areas in the subsequent uranium exploration process. In summary, the prospecting prediction method based on geological information in seismic profiles has certain guidance and reference significance for uranium ore exploration.
