Effect of Humidity Correction to Resources of Sandstone-type Uranium
According to"specification for γ Logging"(EJ/T 611-2015),the uranium grade by logging interpretation should be corrected while the humidity of uranium ore is bigger than 5%;Usually,the wet grade and wet density of ore are used for in-situ leaching sandstone type uranium deposits, but in some cases, dry grade and dry density is also used. The wet grade is used to correct the ore density by humidity content, however the affection to ore depth is not concerned; The dry grade is to used to calculated the cut-off grade(0.010%)as the lower limit of γ logging interpretation that is originated from hard rock type uranium deposit, which is also ignoring humidity correction coefficient's affection to ore depth. This two humidity correction methods will result in the raise of the low limit of the ore section interpretation's grade and the decrease of the ore thickness and estimated uranium resources, especially in the case of low grade and not clear γ logging curve boundary. Our research showed that the present humidity correction method will reduce the easily leached uranium resources for specific uranium deposit at a third upmost; For higher-grade uranium deposits or hard rock type uranium deposit, there is little impact on the resource estimation by wet grade, wet density or dry grade, dry density. Thus dry grade, dry density are recommended when estimating the uranium resources for in-situ leaching uranium deposits.
