Characteristics and Ore-controlling Factors of Uranium Mineralization in Telaaobao Area,Northern Ordos Basin
In the northern Songliao Basin,no significant advancements was achieved in the exploration of sandstone-type uranium deposits. However, the key factors contributing to uranium metallogenesis, such as structure, uranium sources, paleoclimate, and hydrodynamics, are believed favorable in the region. We conducted a comprehensive analysis of data derived from 1.5×105m of drilling activities undertaken by the CNNC between 2015 and 2022.Additionally,accomplishments in uranium exploration from both the petroleum and geological mining systems were incorporated. The investigation verified the presence of uranium mineralization in Sifangtai Formation,Yaojia Formation,Qingshankou Formation, and Quantou Formation.Based on known attributes of uranium mineralization, three types of uranium mineralization were identified:interbedded oxidation zone type, mixed type, and paleo-interlayer oxidized zone type.Distinct geological models for uranium deposits were formulated to correspond with diverse strata and regions.Within this framework,Sifangtai Formation produced interlayer oxidized zone type and mixed type uranium mineralization. The interlayer oxidized zone type was chiefly observed within the central part of the basin, delineated by the north-south trending front line of the oxidation zone, which extends along Yi'an,Lindian,Anda,Zhao Yuan, and Maoxing.Conversely, mixed type uranium mineralization is primarily concentrated around the oil and gas fields in the western slope region.Qingshankou Formation harbors paleo-interlayer oxidized zone type uranium mineralization, with the paleo-oxidized zone manifesting in the vicinities of Keshan,Baiquan, and Hailun.Furthermore,Quantou Formation developed interlayer oxidized zone type uranium mineralization in the eastern margin of the basin, and the front line of the oxidized zone developed in Qingan-Tieli area.
