Discussion on the Preservation Technique for Uranium Geological Samples:A Case Study of Cores Preservation
Drilling cores are an important data source for the exploration and development of uranium deposit, which are very significant in the study of deposit genesis, prediction of deposits distribution, evaluation of deposit reserves and mining of the deposit. This paper discussed the preservation techniques of cores, analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of common methods—paraffin sealing, resin casting, and vacuum encapsulation,as well as their applicability to uranium cores. The research results show that paraffin sealing, resin casting, and vacuum encapsulation can all be used for the protection of uranium cores, but the most suitable method should be chosen according to actual needs. In general,it is necessary to strengthen the application research of vacuum encapsulation in the protection of uranium geology cores and samples.
