Comparative Study on Two Soil Moisture Measurements in Sandy Area of Yulin
Soil moisture is an important factor influencing the development of agriculture and ecological restoration in the sandy area of Yulin. A comparative experiment is conducted to study the measurement of soil water content with TDR method and oven drying method. The results show the following. Regression analysis indicates that different soil water conditions and vegetation types have little influence on the measured values of the TDR method. There is a highly significant correlation between measured values of soil water content with TDR method and oven drying method(R2 ﹥0. 9344,P ﹤0. 0001). The measured values with TDR method had smaller error when compared with oven drying method. Before and after irrigation in the different sample plots, the range of relative error in measured values of the TDR method is 1. 54% ~3. 60%,with an average of 1. 92%. Overall,TDR method has high accuracy which has broad prospects in the soil moisture measurement and study in the sandy area of Yulin.
