Effects of Addition of Soil Conditioner on Quality of Aeolian Sand Soil and Growth of Alfalfa
Soil conditioner is an important way to ecological and resource utilization of mineral solid wastes.Indoor pot experiment was performed. The test treatments included S(no fertilization),SF(compound fertilizer),S10(10 g soil conditioner),S50(50 g soil conditioner)and S100(100 g soil conditioner),and water treatment in-cluded D(drought)and CK(control). The effects of adding soil conditioner on soil quality of aeolian sand and growth of alfalfa were studied. The results showed that the application of soil conditioner significantly reduced soil pH.With the increase of soil conditioner dosage, soil electrical conductivity, urease activity, catalase activity and sucrase activity were significantly increased, while soil available phosphorus and alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen con-tents were increased compared with the S treatment, but did not reach a significant level. The saturated water con-tent of soil increased significantly with the increase of adding amount, but the water loss was the opposite. The plant height and plant dry weight of alfalfa were the highest in treatment S10,which was significantly higher than SF,but showed a decreasing trend with the increase of soil conditioner application amount. The results show that the application of fly ash soil conditioner has obvious improvement effect on the quality of Yulin wind-blown sand soil, especially the water retention effect is remarkable, but the application of 10 g soil conditioner has the best effect on the growth of alfalfa.
