Mao Zedong's Strategies for Preventing and Resolving External Risks in the 1960s and Implications
Preventing and resolving external risks is an important element of Mao Zedong's concept of national se-curity.In the 1960s,international conflicts and struggles, the complexity of the international communist move-ment,and the tense environment in the neighbourhood together constituted external risks affecting China's diplo-matic,political and national defence security. In response,Mao Zedong successfully prevented and resolved the political, diplomatic and national defence security risks through three major strategies:strengthening party building and cohesion, taking the initiative in coalition and active unity, and strengthening war preparations and stabilizing the rear.In the new era and on the new journey,we should further grasp CPC leadership, people's supremacy,bottom-line principle, dialectical thinking and systematic risk management as the core strength, fundamental posi-tion,basic guideline, key elements and important support for preventing and resolving external risks,so as to facil-itate the construction of a strong socialist modernized country.
