The Preventive Effect of Intermittent Pneumatic Compression Therapy System on Postoperative Lower Limb Deep Vein Thrombosis in Breast Cancer Patients
Objective To investigate the preventive effect of intermittent pneumatic compression therapy system on postoperative lower limb deep vein thrombosis(DVT)in breast cancer patients. Methods A total of 120 patients who underwent breast cancer radical surgery from May 2020 to June 2022 were selected according to different treatment nethods, and divided into control group and experimental group. The conventional group received ankle pump exercise therapy, while the experimental group received intermittent pneumatic compression therapy system in addition to ankle pump exercise therapy. The treatment duration for both groups was more than 7 days. The lower limb hemodynamic parameters(femoral vein and dorsalis pedis vein blood flow velocity),coagulation function indicators(activated partial thromboplastin time[APTT]and D-dimer),and the occurrence of DVT within 7 days after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results After 3 days of treatment, the blood flow velocity of the femoral vein and dorsalis pedis vein in both groups was faster than before treatment, and the experimental group was faster than theconventional group, with signifiant significance(P<0.05).After 3 days of treatment, the serum APTT level increased and the D-dimer level decreased in both groups compared to before treatment, with signifiant significance(P<0.05),and the serum APTT level in the experimental group was higher and the D-dimer level was lower than that in theconventional group, with signifiant significance(P<0.05).Within 7 days after treatment, the incidence of DVT in the experimental group was lower than that in theconventional group, with signifiant significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of intermittent pneumatic compression therapy system after breast cancer surgery can not only accelerate the blood flow velocity of the femoral vein and dorsalis pedis vein, improve lower limb hemodynamic parameters, but also improve coagulation function and reduce the incidence of lower limb DVT.
