The Influence of Manufacturing Materials on the Performance of Vascular Stents
With the minimal trauma and significant therapeutic effects for patients with cardiovascular diseases, vascular stents were widely used in clinical practice in recent years. However, prolonged exposure of the stent to pulsatile blood pressure in the blood vessels may cause deformation or fatigue failure of the stent. With the rapid development of computer technology, finite element analysis technology is widely used in cardiovascular disease research due to its high efficiency and low cost.In this study, three material properties were assigned to S-shaped stents through computer simulation technology, and the impact of stent manufacturing materials on the fatigue performance of vascular stents was evaluated by using Goodman charts and dynamic safety factors. The results showed that with the same service conditions, changing the material of the stent can significantly improve the fatigue strength of the stent. The results of this study can assist engineers in selecting appropriate stent materials based on specific application scenarios in clinical treatment, thereby obtaining stents that meet usage requirements.
