The Application Effect of Lean Six Sigma Management in Reducing the Proportion of Consumables in Thoracic Surgery
In this study, with the analysis of the current status and shortcomings of medical consumables management in thoracic surgery, and integration of the five steps of Lean Six Sigma, namely Define,Measure,Analyze,Improve, and Control, the factors affecting the management of consumables in thoracic surgery were analyzed and improved, and standardized consumables proportion control process was developed. The improvement effect of Lean Six Sigma management in reducing the proportion of thoracic surgical consumables was evaluated based on quantitative standards before and after improvement.Through practice,Lean Six Sigma management can significantly improve the control effect of thoracic surgery consumables, reducing the proportion of departmental consumables by 20.1%compared to before management.Meanwhile,it also has a radiation effect on other departments, resulting in a 1.33%decrease in the proportion of consumables in the entire hospital compared to before management. Therefore, the application of Lean Six Sigma management in medical consumables can promote reasonable control of consumables, improve the level of department consumables management, control hospital operating costs, and effectively reduce the proportion of clinical department consumables.
