The Application Effect of Glucose Solution in Intestinal Preparation of Patients Undergoing Colonoscopy
Objective To evaluate the application effect of glucose solution in intestinal preparation of patients undergoing colonoscopy. Methods With the selection of 160 patients who planned to undergo colonoscopy at the hospital from February to November 2021 as the study subjects, they were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group, with 80 cases in each group. Both groups were fed a liquid low-slag diet 1 day before colonoscopy and fasted on the examination day.In the control group,3 bags of polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder were dissolved in 1.2 L warm water and 1.8 L clean water as intestinal preparation. In the control group,1.8 L water was replaced with 1.8 L glucose solution on the basis of the control group(patients adjusted the amount of glucose by themselves).Among them, one third of the preparation was taken at 8 pm one day before the examination, two thirds of the preparation was taken at 7am on the day of the examination, and colonoscopy was performed after taking them. The subjective feelings of the intestinal preparation process(including the taste, hunger, bloating, nausea, abdominal pain, and satisfaction with the intestinal preparation preparations),satisfaction with colonoscopy examination, willingness to review colonoscopy, whether to add glucose solution for intestinal preparation during the review,as well as the quality of intestinal preparation, entry time, and vital signs during the examination process(heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, respiratory rate)were compared, between the two groups. Results The taste and satisfaction scores of the experimental group on the intestinal preparation preparations were higher than those of the control group, while the hunger score was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);There were no statistically significant differences in the scores of bloating, nausea, and abdominal pain between the two groups(P>0.05).The satisfaction score of the experimental group for colonoscopy examination was higher than that of the control group, and the proportion of people who wanted to use glucose solution for intestinal preparation during review was higher than that of the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the willingness to review colonoscopy between the two groups(P>0.05).The quality of intestinal preparation in the experimental group was better than that in the control group, and the endoscopy time was shorter than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);There were no statistically significant differences in heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate between the two groups during the examination process(P>0.05).Conclusions The use of glucose solution for intestinal preparation before colonoscopy can improve the taste of intestinal preparation preparations, reduce patient hunger, increase patient satisfaction with intestinal preparation preparations and colonoscopy, and increase the expectation of adding glucose water for intestinal preparation during review. In addition,it can improve the quality of intestinal preparation.
