The Development and Application of a Hanging Peritoneal Dialysis Fluid Heating and Insulation Bag
Objective To develop a hanging peritoneal dialysis fluid heating and insulation bag, which can provide constant temperature perfusion of peritoneal dialysis fluid into the abdominal cavity after heating, and reduce gastrointestinal symptoms caused by the decrease in dialysis fluid temperature during fluid exchange. Methods The body of the hanging peritoneal dialysis fluid heating insulation bag was composed of three layers, the inner layer was carbon fiber heating film and heat probe sensor, the middle layer was waterproof cloth, the outer layer was equipped with zipper, and the top was connected with a suspension rope. After being connected to the power supply, the hanging peritoneal dialysate heating insulation bag can heat the peritoneal dialysate and enter the insulation mode, and the constant temperature abdominal perfusion can be performed until the end of fluid exchange. With the selection of 400 peritoneal dialysis patients admitted to the hospital from August 2021 to April 2022 for clinical validation, they were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group using a random number table method, with 200 cases in each group. With the use of the hanging peritoneal dialysis solution heating insulation bag designed in this study for abdominal perfusion in the observation group, and the use of an incubator to heat dialysate in the control group, the abdominal perfusion pain score and the diarrhea at 24 h after perfusion were compared between the two groups. Results During abdominal perfusion, the pain score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05);Within 24 hours after infusion, the incidence of diarrhea in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The hanging peritoneal dialysis fluid heating and insulation bag can reduce gastrointestinal symptoms caused by the decrease in dialysis fluid temperature during fluid exchange, and is suitable for hospitalized or home peritoneal dialysis patients.
