With the longer routine procurement process cycle of medical consumables,the demand of clinical departments for the use of urgently needed high-value medical consumables cannot be met.In this study,with the retrieval of temporary procurement data of high-value medical consumables from hospitals from January to May 2023,and the collection of opinions from departments involved in the entire process of temporary procurement,problems such as a large number of applications,low approval efficiency,and insufficient departmental argumentation were discovered in the temporary procurement of high-value medical consumables.With the analysis of reasons by applying the PDCA cycle,measures such as optimizing procurement system,clarifying procurement principles,standardizing procurement application demonstration,standardizing qualification audit content,and establishing pre-audit mechanism were formulated.After the implementation of the PDCA cycle,the temporary procurement quantity of high-value medical consumables was significantly reduced,the approval time for temporary procurement was significantly shortened,and the approval efficiency and clinical department satisfaction was significantly improved.In the next stage,the PDCA cycle will continuously improve the feedback,evaluation,and supervision of the use of high-value medical consumables purchased temporarily,in order to enhance the management efficiency of functional departments and improve the level of refined and standardized management of high-value medical consumables purchased temporarily through a multi-stage PDCA cycle.
